The town of Avon, CT, stood tall with local pride recently as exceptional athletes and coaches were honored with induction into the Avon High Athletic Hall of Fame. Hosted on May 3, 2025, at the Golf Club of Avon, the event marked a memorable evening, celebrating the achievements of several stellar athletes hailing from different graduation years.

Among the 2025 class of inductees, Tyler D'Onofrio, Kevin Gormley, Janet Lachmann Balthazar, Bill Loeffler, Ian McNeill, Taryn Miller-Stevens, Dushawne Simpson, and Kristen Weldon-Leston, along with long-time girls soccer coach Jim Murray and the entire 2012 Avon High's girls cross country team, were honored. As stories were shared, old connections reformed, and the bonds of the Avon community strengthened.

Avon resident and veteran broadcaster Joe Zone hosted the event, connecting the audience with the lives and times of these remarkable sports figures. Each inductee reflected on their triumphs, journeys, and contributions to Avon High School's sports legacy.

In honor of this grand event, a whole host of banquet photos were taken, and the full article is available to read on the award-winning website The Collinsville Press.
