Hartford Baking Co. turns 16 on Tuesday, and its Farmington shop is marking the day with two offers: two sandwiches for $16, and a Birthday Cake Latte made for the occasion, iced and finished with a pink cap of rainbow sprinkles.
The bakery is at 767 Farmington Avenue, open 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., seven days a week. It is one of four Hartford Baking cafes, with the others in West Hartford Center, Glastonbury and South Windsor, and the company also sends bread and pastry to restaurants and grocery stores around the state.
It started in West Hartford in 2010 with, by its own account, one baker and four baristas. It now employs more than 50 people.
Both offers run Tuesday, September 1, and not after.
