The town of Avon, CT, invites residents to a forum for the second phase of the Old Farms Road Reconstruction Project. This session is scheduled for Monday, June 10, at 6 p.m. at the Avon Senior Center’s Community Room (635 West Avon Road).

Officials aim to gather community feedback on the updated designs developed from previous public input sessions. “Your input will have an impact on future iterations of the project design,” the town stated in an announcement.

The first phase of the project, approved by voters on December 14, 2022, involves a $5.5 million budget to widen and reconfigure portions of Old Farms Road to enhance safety and reduce accidents. Completion is expected by December 2025.

Phase II focuses on further re-alignments and replacing two bridges to widen lanes and increase safety. This phase is still in the planning stage and will require voter-approved funding.
