FARMINGTON — A Bristol man arrested on a warrant Monday morning on New Britain Avenue faces eight charges, among them two counts of risk of injury to a child, first-degree criminal mischief and reckless driving. He posted bond.

The department's log lists four other arrests for the four days ending at 7 a.m. Tuesday: three on Friday, on Litchfield Road, Southeast Road and Maple Avenue, and a second warrant arrest Monday at the same New Britain Avenue address. The log was blank from Saturday morning to Monday morning.

Friday, July 5

4:20 p.m., Litchfield Road. Officer Richard E. Bianchi arrested Piotr Rafal Wawszkiewicz, 47, of Unionville, on a warrant. The log lists no charge for this arrest; its remarks read: "Warrant arrest. Posted bond." Court date July 8.

6:40 p.m., 1600 Southeast Road. Officer John M. Finn arrested Amanda Mary Ditommaso, 37, of Hartford, and charged her with criminal trespass in the first degree. The remarks say the arrest was "in connection with a trespassing complaint." The log lists the bond as "Non Surety (Pre-CISS)" with no dollar amount. A nonsurety bond is a written promise to appear; no cash changes hands. She posted bond. Court date July 17.

7 p.m., Maple Avenue. Officer Nicholas G. Karangekis arrested Jennifer L. Lecompte, 42, of Unionville. The log lists no charge for this arrest; its remarks read: "Arrested in connection with Breach of Peace. Posted bond." Court date July 8.

Monday, July 8

8:32 a.m., 319 New Britain Avenue. Officer Alex W. Jones arrested Dustin Michael Caron, 29, of Bristol, on a warrant charging failure to drive on the right, passing in a no-passing zone, criminal mischief in the first degree, breach of peace in the second degree, reckless driving, two counts of risk of injury to a child, and following too closely. The log gives a bond type, surety, only on the following-too-closely charge, and lists no dollar amount on any of the eight. A surety bond requires a bail bondsman or other guarantor. He posted bond. Court date July 16.

12:05 p.m., 319 New Britain Avenue. Officer Jones arrested Krystof J. Swiatek, 50, of New Britain, on a warrant. The log lists no charge for this arrest; its remarks read: "Warrant arrest. Posted bond." Court date July 9.

The log gives Swiatek's arrest the same incident number as Wawszkiewicz's Friday arrest on Litchfield Road, 2400009958. It does not say why two arrests three days apart, at different addresses, share one number, or what either warrant was for.

Jack Beckett has read enough Farmington arrest logs to know that "Warrant arrest" is a complete sentence there, and sometimes a complete entry. He is on his first coffee and has already counted the blank charge tables twice. ☕

The Farmington Mercury reads the arrest log line by line so you can read it over breakfast: every name, every charge, every bond, and every weekend the log leaves blank. We also cover the town council, the zoning board and the school budget. Our motto is "Always last to breaking news," and we have the timestamps to prove it. The Farmington Mercury publishes the Farmington Police Department's daily arrest log as a matter of public record. All individuals named are presumed innocent unless and until convicted. Charges reflect allegations by police, not findings of a court.
