FARMINGTON — A Hartford man arrested Monday night on Maple Avenue was charged with four counts of risk of injury to a child, third-degree assault, interfering with an emergency call and breach of peace. He was held on a $25,000 surety bond.

The only other arrest on the department's log for the 24 hours ending at 7 a.m. Tuesday was a Unionville man arrested on a warrant Monday morning at an address the log lists as 101 Lafayette Street. He was also held.

Monday, July 29

10:41 a.m., an address the log lists as 101 Lafayette Street. Officer Zachary J. Martin arrested William E. Leers, 40, of Unionville, on a warrant charging disorderly conduct. The log marks the bond surety, with no dollar amount. He was held on bond. Court date July 30.

9 p.m., Maple Avenue. Officer Nicholas G. Karangekis arrested Shervon Harvey Lecompte, 38, of Hartford, and charged him with interfering with an emergency call, breach of peace in the second degree, four counts of risk of injury to a child, and assault in the third degree. Bond was $25,000, surety, on the emergency-call charge, and none on the others. A surety bond requires a bail bondsman or other guarantor. The remarks read: "Arrested in connection with Breach of Peace. Held on bond." Court date July 30.

The log does not say what led to either arrest.

Jack Beckett has covered the Farmington arrest log through enough Mondays to know they rarely start slow. This one got two entries and one coffee, and he is told that is a fair exchange. ☕

The Farmington Mercury publishes the arrest log the way the department writes it, minus the leading zeros: every name, every charge, every bond, and every court date. We also cover the town council, planning and zoning, the board of education and the people of Farmington. Our motto is "Always last to breaking news," and we have yet to let it down. The Farmington Mercury publishes the Farmington Police Department's daily arrest log as a matter of public record. All individuals named are presumed innocent unless and until convicted. Charges reflect allegations by police, not findings of a court.
