FARMINGTON — A Hartford man, 24, was served two burglary warrants at a courthouse on the morning of Thursday, Oct. 10, each also charging criminal mischief and larceny and each carrying a $100,000 surety bond.

The only other arrest on the Farmington police log for the 24 hours ending at 7 a.m. Friday, Oct. 11, was a Bristol woman charged with fourth-degree larceny at Westfarms Mall that afternoon. The log for the 24 hours ending at 7 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, lists a single arrest: a Farmington woman picked up on a warrant on Farm Drive.

Thursday, Oct. 10

9:54 a.m., a courthouse the log lists as GA 14. Officer Jeffrey A. Glaude arrested Nelson Colon-Davila, 24, of Hartford, on two warrants at the same minute. The first charges third-degree burglary, first-degree criminal mischief, fourth-degree larceny and larceny of a motor vehicle, third or subsequent offense, plus conspiracy to commit each. The second charges third-degree burglary, first-degree criminal mischief and fifth-degree larceny, plus conspiracy to commit each. Each carries a $100,000 surety bond on the burglary count. A surety bond requires a bail bondsman or other guarantor. The remarks on both read: "Warrant arrest. Served Habeas." A habeas is a court order bringing a person already in custody before a judge. Court date Oct. 10.

2:18 p.m., 500 South Road (Westfarms Mall). Officer Allison C. Vitkus arrested Cardia Suzette Powell, 33, of Bristol, and charged her with first-degree criminal trespass, fourth-degree larceny and illegal possession of a shoplifting device. Bond was $10,000, surety, on the larceny count, and none on the other two. The remarks read: "Arrested in connection with shoplifting. Posted bond." Court date Oct. 15.

Wednesday, Oct. 23

6:15 p.m., Farm Drive. Officer Jose R. Santiago arrested Latasha Michelle White, 36, of Farmington, on a warrant. The log lists no charge for this arrest; its remarks read: "Warrant arrest. Posted bond." Court date Oct. 24.

The log does not say what was taken in either larceny case, or from whom.

Jack Beckett has covered the Farmington arrest log long enough to read a charge list that says "conspiracy to commit" four times without losing his place. He lost it once anyway, somewhere in his second coffee. ☕

The Farmington Mercury reads the arrest log line by line so you don't have to: every name, every charge, every bond, and every warrant that runs longer than a grocery list. We also cover the town council, planning and zoning, the schools and the budget. Our motto is "Always last to breaking news," and this edition is proof.
