FARMINGTON — The Farmington Police Department's press arrest log for the three days ending at 7 a.m. Monday lists one arrest, on a drunk driving charge that exists only for drivers under 21.
Sunday, 1:28 p.m. Jordan Danilo Miguel Fortunato, 20, of Burlington, was charged with driving under the influence, illegal operation of a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and failure to drive in the proper lane, one count each. The log gives a single arrest time, a single location and a single incident number for all three, indicating one stop, recorded as Main Street at Bidwell Square. The remarks column reads, in full: "Arrested in connection with Driving Under the Influence. Posted bond." The court date listed is Monday, Sept. 14. The arresting officer is listed as Pacifico T. Flores.
The drunk driving count is the under-21 charge, and the log labels it as such: the threshold is .02 blood alcohol for a driver under 21, where .08 applies at 21 and over. The log does not give a reading, so it does not show where in that range this stop fell, or whether it fell above .08 as well. What the charge establishes is which standard he was measured against.
The bond figures sit unevenly across the three counts. Only the under-21 drunk driving count carries a dollar amount, $2,500. The lane charge is marked non-surety, which is a written promise to appear rather than money put up, and is listed at zero. The third count carries neither a bond type nor an amount. The log lists that third count as a separate impaired driving charge from the first and does not explain how the two differ.
Total arrests: one. No other arrests were released for the period.
