FARMINGTON — A New Britain man arrested just before 1 a.m. Saturday at Scott Swamp Road and New Britain Avenue was charged with driving under the influence, driving without a license, driving under suspension and four other motor vehicle counts, among them speeding over 60 mph.

The log lists five other arrests for the four days ending at 7 a.m. Saturday, including two of the same Vernon man at the police department on consecutive days, both in connection with domestic violence.

Tuesday, July 23

12:45 p.m., 399 Farmington Avenue. Officer Anthony C. Lustrinelli arrested Edward C. Fyler, 71, of Broad Brook. The log lists no charge for this arrest; its remarks read: "Arrested in connection with a Larceny. Released on Promise to Appear." A promise to appear is a written pledge to show up in court, with no bond. Court date July 31.

Wednesday, July 24

1:45 a.m., Newington. Officer Michael J. Smith arrested Arycelise Kazzandra Medero-Navarro, 23, of Hartford, on a warrant charging larceny in the sixth degree. The log marks the bond nonsurety, with no dollar amount. She posted bond. Court date July 31.

Thursday, July 25

6:29 p.m., Farmington Police Department. Officer Nicholas G. Karangekis arrested Kevin C. Tolman, 66, of Vernon. The log lists no charge; its remarks read: "Arrested in connection with domestic violence. Posted bond." Court date July 26.

Friday, July 26

10:54 a.m., Litchfield Road. Officer Aaron M. Benham arrested Toronjio Damall Hudson, 53, of Southington. The log lists no charge; its remarks read: "Arrested in connection with domestic violence. Posted bond." Court date July 29.

12:14 p.m., Farmington Police Department. Officer Daniel R. Aparo arrested Tolman again and charged him with violation of conditions of release in the first degree. The log marks the bond nonsurety, with no amount. The remarks read: "Arrested in connection with domestic violence. Posted bond." Court date July 29.

Saturday, July 27

12:47 a.m., Scott Swamp Road and New Britain Avenue. Officer John M. Finn arrested Juan Jose Torres, 28, of New Britain, and charged him with speeding over 60 mph, improper use of markers, license or registration, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, operating without a license, failure to carry a registration or insurance card, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs under section 14-227a of the Connecticut General Statutes, and operating under suspension. Bond was $5,000, nonsurety, on the DUI count, which the log labels "Non Surety (Pre-CISS)," and none on the other six. A nonsurety bond is a written promise to appear with a dollar amount attached; no cash changes hands. He posted bond. Court date Aug. 7.

Seven charges, one bond. Driving without a license and driving under suspension came free with the DUI, at least as far as the bond column is concerned. The log does not say what led to that arrest or any of the others.
