FARMINGTON — A Farmington man was charged with third-degree strangulation, third-degree assault and disorderly conduct when Farmington police served a warrant on him Wednesday morning on New Britain Avenue. He posted a $10,000 nonsurety bond.

It was the only arrest on the department's log for the 24 hours ending at 7 a.m. Thursday.

Wednesday, March 19

11:40 a.m., New Britain Avenue. Officer Daniel R. Aparo arrested Javoni T. White, 34, of Farmington, on a warrant charging strangulation or suffocation in the third degree, disorderly conduct and assault in the third degree. Bond was $10,000, nonsurety, on the assault count, and none on the other two. A nonsurety bond is a written promise to appear with a dollar amount attached; no cash changes hands. He posted bond. Court date March 20.

The log does not say what led to the warrant.

Jack Beckett has reported on the Farmington arrest log long enough to know its column headings by heart: charge, description, counts, bond type, bond amount. He recites them over his first coffee. ☕

The Farmington Mercury publishes the arrest log in full, along with the town council, the zoning board, the board of education and the elections that decide who sits on all of them. The Farmington Mercury publishes the Farmington Police Department's daily arrest log as a matter of public record. All individuals named are presumed innocent unless and until convicted. Charges reflect allegations by police, not findings of a court.
