FARMINGTON — A Cheshire man was arrested on Colt Highway at 12:32 a.m. Thursday and charged with driving under the influence, the only arrest on the Farmington Police Department's log for the 48 hours ending at 7 a.m. Thursday. He posted bond.
The log for the first 24 of those hours, ending at 7 a.m. Wednesday, listed no arrests.
Officer Grace L. Petersen arrested Michael Maloney, 56, of Cheshire. The log lists three charges: failure to drive in the proper lane, operating a motor vehicle without a license, and operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Bond was $1,500, nonsurety, listed on the license count; the log gives no figure for the other two. A nonsurety bond is a written promise to appear with a dollar amount attached; no cash changes hands. The remarks line reads "Arrested in connection with Driving Under the Influence. Posted bond." Court date is Thursday, Nov. 19. The log does not say what led to the arrest.
This coverage is supported by Farmington Storage, 155 Scott Swamp Road, the only storage facility in Connecticut with Museum air. A blank log is a quiet Wednesday. A blank garage floor is a good Saturday. 860.777.4001 📦

The Farmington Mercury publishes the Farmington Police Department's daily arrest log as a matter of public record. All individuals named are presumed innocent unless and until convicted. Charges reflect allegations by police, not findings of a court.
